The Brighter Side to Life

Hurray it’s spring time again. All the lovely little lambs are out the days are getting longer, and its getting sunnier and warmer again .. well of sorts. I mean its that lovely sort of sunny warm what tempts you out and then there’s a sudden shower and it’s wet again. Even still it’s still wonderful when the sun is out all the same.

I thought I would do a little post on the brighter side of life today, specially since the last little blog post was a little doom and gloom. Let’s face it if we wanted to hear something sad and depressing in a day, we would only have to turn on the news and listen to some of the other things going on.

Sometimes it’s hard to be able to see the brighter side to life. Some times all it takes is that on little thing to go wrong what knocks you off your path and then keeps building up into a bit of an avalanche of problems. Where you end up just being a little confused and lost over what to do. I know I definitely get like that sometimes .. well maybe a lot of times. When time get like this tho, I mostly keep calm and keep on knitting, until I figure out what I am going to do next.

Sneaky snap shot of new Business Cards.

Well … Sadly in the case of my old instagram account being hacked. Unfortunately I still have not managed to regain access to my old instagram account @ Idris Elemental. I have managed to try and access it in so many ways, but it still won’t let me back into the account or deactivate it. Which I still am fuming about. However on the plus side. It has given me a good excuse to be able to have fun drawing up this new design ideas for business cards.

This design ideas was based around the fact that soo many people have commented that when I am dying up batches of wools on the hob. that it looks like I am making space noodles, or a lovely batch of soup dragons blue green soup. What always seemed to make me laugh .. specially when it ends up being spaghetti for dinner.

You will also be happy to hear that I will now be creating a new instagram account. @IdrisEmporium So that I can continue to be able to share my creations and what I am doing more fluidly again. As even though having my old account being hacked is frustrating (and I still don’t trust Instagram). It still is one of the best apps and social media platforms for being able to share images on. Though I will be doing somethings differently this time for sure, and will be taking extra precaution to make sure my account and other users are still safe.

I will never ask for any Bank details, over social media. If it looks out of suspicious or out of character block or ignore it. Thank you.

I also am very happy to be able to announce that Ewe and Ply, a wonderfully independent local business and natural hand dyed wool shop. What have a fantastic range of wools, including their very own range of local Shropshire wools.

Now have a small special small batch selection of lovely tweed effect Double knit wools, comprised of 2 ends merino wool, 1 end super wash merino. Dyed up with our special blend of Uv Neons, Magic and love. Get them while you can as these were a limited batch dyded up specially for them. As well as due to the nature of the dyeing process even if I tried I might not be able to dye the exact same up again.

Ewe and Ply still has to be one of my most favourite yarn shops. I’m not saying that just because my wools a there in the shops and that I want you to buy my wools. I mean it helps, but without out that they are still one of my favourite wools shops, and i’m not allowed in unless supervised. As there are way too many pretty skeins, what are too hard to resit. Even though I dye my own wools, it still is way too tempting to buy even more wools.

They also were the ones who had gotten me interested in wools again, and what inspired the wool addict within me. When I first moved back up to Wales when first lockdown hit me and my mum went into Ewe and Ply and got some of there lovely Shropshire ply wools and since then I have been completely hooked and they were the first people to inspire me with the ideas to start trying to dye my own wool. But of course with my own little twist.

As well as the fact that they are such wonderful people, and have had the great pleasure to be able to trade at some of the same events. So when they asked me if they could be able to stock some skeins in there shop, I found it hard to resit. Now every time I walk passed the windows and see the little brightly coloured skeins in there I can’t help but smile.
